Question:
I am an RN nurse in Greece. I’ve been working as an Operating Room nurse for 2 years. I was just curious about nurses’ salary in other countries, especially in the US and UK.How much do nurses earn in Greece?

Answer:
I work in the UK, after nearly 3 years in ICU & working part time, including all allowances I earn around 16,000 sterling. With 2 years of working experience, I earn about 12000 euros a year. Which should be about 7500-8000 pounds! Living expenses in the UK are a bit higher than in Greece. Still it’s a pretty low salary even by Greek standards, for a diploma which is the equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree. In the State of New Jersey (one of the higher paying states) the typical RN salary is between $21/hr to $28/hr. With overtime and incentive bonuses, I earned $81,000 last year. Being a typical American, I have no idea how that converts to Euros or Pounds Sterling. Currency converter: 81,000 US Dollar = 94,000.2 Euro 81,000 US Dollar = 57,142.9 British Pound
