Question:
I’m seriously considering travel nursing. Could anyone help steer me in the right direction? I need to find info on employment agencies, their phone numbers, and information on what to expect. What life is like as a traveling nurse?
I would be interested in having a roommate where ever I do go. Seems like it might be a lonely life. What about that? How do you deal with being away from all your family?
Last summer, I spent 5 weeks in NYC alone. I was hoping to work, but couldn’t because my nursing license took an unreasonable amount of time to be processed. So I know what its like to be totally alone in a strange city. But I would much prefer to have a friend to be with and enjoy the experience with. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Does anybody know where I can find resources on the net?
Answer:
Look in the back few pages of any Nursing magazine, ie: nursing 96. The agency I used automatically put you with a room mate unless you pay xtra for a private. It really was an excellent deal, I would recommend it highly. I shopped a few agencies and they all seemed quite similar in pay and benefits btw :) Have fun
