RN to BSN, Fort Hayes questions
|
Question:
Any opinions on the Fort Hayes University RN to BSN program? I am looking to continue for my BSN but have found most universities to be outrageously priced. Fort Hayes is very reasonable w/ fees and tuition.
Answer:
I have good news and bad news for you. If you live in Kansas all the news is good.
The RN/BSN online program at Fort Hayes is available ONLY throughout Kansas.

Fort Hayes is regionally accredited and their nursing program is also accredited.
HAYS, KS—Fort Hays State University has received notice that its accreditation has been renewed by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools under a new format, called the Academic Quality Improvement Project, that is designed to support, encourage and recognize institutions for their continuous improvement efforts and accomplishments.
FHSU is a leader in nursing education and offers a program that is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. C.C.N.E. is a national, autonomous accreditation agency, officially recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education, that ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate and graduate education programs in preparing effective nurses.
FH also has an MSN program and a MLS program that has a lot of interesting concentrations. FH uses BlackBoard as its Course Management System. BlackBoard is very student user friendly and easy to navigate.
When doing research for my book I was surprised that nursing has embraced online education to such a degree. There are so many choices now I can hardly keep up with all of them. Good luck. Keep searching and you will come up with a lot of choices and hopefully some reasonable ones too. Have you looked at the University of Delaware’s RN/BSN program? ()
