Continuing Education Credits are Neeeded
to Keep your Nursing License?

Question:
Is it true that to keep your Registered Nursing license....you
need 25 continuing educational credits every 2 years...and
the State Government in Michigan will do random audits to
see if you have them. If you don't have your CEU's in Michigan...then
your license will not be renewed?
Answer:
Yes this is true. Beginning this year if your liscense is
due to be renewed you must have your CEU's by the folllowing
2 years to retain your license. You do not have to show
proof of CEU's unless audited by the state. There are many
different ways to obtain these CEU's and they are guidlines
by the state as to what is an allowed CEU, ie college classes,
magazine CEU offerings, articles published etc. Take note
that if your liscense is not up for renewal untill next
year the CEU's you obtain prior to your expiration date
DO NOT count in your totals.
