Nursing agency Chicago
|
Question:
I'm thinking about moving back to Chicago and I was wondering about Nursing in Home Health. I live in Austin currently and we have a lot of HH agencies that use only prn nurse. They try to keep us at about 25-35 visits per week and pay is per visit. Is that pretty much how it is there? Any agencies I need to steer clear of?
Answer:
Pretty much. Over 35 visits per week and they feel they have you cranking out production-line care. If you want to get other than pay-per-visit, best if you get into case management; it's a lot more work (especially on the administrative side) but it offers a lot more control over patients' care, and offers salary plus benefits.
Wife says:
Am only speaking about 1 agency as I have been there 5 years. Have not worked for any other agencies. Our agency has regular home care, extended hours home care and hospice. We are initiating Alzheimer’s and cardiac programs. If you want more info on my employer let me know; if you wish, I'll put you in touch with someone who can talk salary and/or interview with you.
