Question:
I'm looking for information on Qualified Rehab Consultants
(QRC's) and/or Legal Nurse Consulting. What either do,
and if there is a c ertification process.
Answer:
LNC is a certificate program. It is available through
approved programs on the college level and is post BSN.(at
least where I live). I'm not sure what an LNC does. All
I know is I have my 2 year RN and am the nurse consultant
for a chain of nursing homes. Whenever we decide to fight
the Big Bad State, I am expected to spend hours on line
or in a library researching the topic for our attorney
to use in court. He then sends me a huge bill for his
time. Doesn't sound like he needs an LNC- I think he's
got it pretty well handled without one.
Our local community college offers
a 12 month series of courses (18 hours)
with the end result being a LNC (legal nurse consultant)
certification. I have a friend that is taking the course.
Sounds like a very good investment because the demand
exceeds the supply. Might be able to get some info from
the net.
